About me
Having completed my Physiotherapy degree at the University
of Birmingham I spent 11 years working in the NHS. I was lucky to work in most
hospital specialities and this experience provided valuable knowledge which still
informs my practice today.
I held senior physiotherapist roles within a wide
variety of areas such as Rheumatology, Hydrotherapy, Neurology, Cardiac
Rehabilitation, and Trauma & Orthopaedics in both NHS and private hospitals.
I have specialised in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy for many years and prior to
leaving the NHS I was working as a Specialist Physiotherapist in clinics
alongside consultants, my specialist work related mostly to spines, shoulders,
knees and hips. I was able to refer and review X-Rays and scans and attend
Spinal meetings where surgery and interventions were planned.
This experience
was invaluable in understanding when further tests and surgical opinions are
required. I trained as a physiotherapy practitioner within the Emergency
Department, this was useful in my pitch side work over several seasons for
Rugby Teams.
I enjoy being active and will try my hand at most things, I
have run a couple of half marathons, completed local triathlon events, like to
ski, roller skate and do lots of Pilates, of course!
